Compared to its predecessor, the Votronic 1263 LCD Battery Computer 100 S has a significantly more accurate measuring shunt. The new Smart Mess Shunt is included in the scope of delivery. In addition to the higher accuracy, the self-consumption has also been further reduced. The range of functions, dimensions, etc. are identical to those of the predecessor model.

Microprocessor-controlled, the following values are measured, calculated and displayed:

• Battery voltage on board battery 7 to 32 V (volts). internal measuring resolution 0.1 V
• Allows conclusions to be drawn about the battery behaviour under different loads and is used to check the function of e.g. the charger, solar system, alternator, etc. Flashing warning display in the event of overvoltage.
• Battery current (charge/discharge) +/- 0 to max. +/- 1800 A, internal measuring resolution 0.1 A
• Control of discharge currents (load) by consumers, indicated by a "-". sign, control of charging currents, indicated by a "Charge" sign.
• Battery capacity (Ah and %)
• Residual charge from 0 Ah / 0% (empty) to nominal capacity max. 2000 Ah / 100% (full)
• Battery voltage 2nd battery (e.g. starting battery), 7 to 32 V (volts), internal measuring resolution 0.1 V
• Switching output freely programmable and tactile (PNP, plus potential 12V / 24V, max. 0.5A)
• incl. residual running display

How much residual charge does my on-board battery actually have left? Is the battery really full? Why is energy being drawn from the battery despite consumers being switched off? The VOTRONIC LCD Battery Computer S answers these questions to the exact percentage (%) and ampere-hour (Ah). At the push of a button, it provides comprehensive information about the current state of charge of the battery, the flowing battery currents and the voltage level of the battery. The LCD Battery Computer S is based on the tried and tested VOTRONIC LCD Battery Computer. The versatile, easy-to-use display functions have been extended by a white illuminated, clear LCD display, which is very easy to read even from a great distance and in unfavourable lighting conditions.

The device is constantly in contact with "its battery" and thus registers and evaluates all battery actions. All charging and discharging currents are meticulously counted, and battery size, self-discharge, battery load, etc. are taken into account using programmed characteristic curve fields. The remaining capacity of the battery is then calculated from the measured values and the battery size. The result is the correct display of the state of charge (the capacity that can still be removed, residual charge) of the on-board battery as a numerical value in ampere-hours ("Ah") and in percent ("%") as well as a clear level bar, like a fuel gauge. The LCD Battery Computer S is suitable for all battery types (acid, gel, AGM, lithium adjustable) with 12V and 24V battery voltage.

Of course, the current battery voltage ("V") and the current battery current ("A") are also available in the display. Discharge currents (consumers) are indicated by a minus sign. Charging currents are also indicated by a clearly legible "Charge" sign. Independent of this, there is another display option for the voltage of a second battery, e.g. for monitoring the vehicle's starter battery.

The LCD battery computer S has a freely programmable switching output for control, monitoring and warning purposes, e.g. to automatically switch consumers or issue a warning depending on the state of charge of the on-board battery (0-100%). On and off switching points are freely and independently adjustable in %, enabling any switching functions. In addition, these can be manually overridden at any time by pressing a button.

Application example: Automatic protection of the battery against harmful deep discharge, the loads are switched off exactly according to the state of charge, e.g. at less than 25% state of charge. At the push of a button, an EMERGENCY-ON function is possible to continue supplying the loads. The unit can thus also be used as a remotely operated battery master switch (on/off) with deep discharge protection.

A plug-in connection cable connects the display completely to a robust precision measuring resistor (shunt), which is connected directly to the negative pole of the on-board battery and at which the voltages and currents of the battery are recorded. The switching output for connecting signal transmitters or powerful switching relays is also located here.

Matching the VOTRONIC module system, the unit lines up with the other display modules both optically and mechanically (uniform height 85 mm), and the low installation depth of only 22 mm allows it to be mounted in almost any location.

Important information about the smart shunt:
The selection of the appropriate smart shunt (100 S, 200 S or 400 S) is based exclusively on the maximum continuous load by the loads (A) and not on the total battery capacity (Ah).
